Shirley D. Dandera

Shirley D. Dandera, 66, of Lakeview, passed away Thursday morning, March 1, 2018 at her home.  She was born in Bellefontaine on October 31, 1951 to the late Clarence H. and Cleta V. (Rumer) Horne.

Shirley worked in the meat department at Kroger for 23 years, before retiring in 2008.  She was a member of the Indian Lake Moose, life-member of the AmVets, and enjoyed gambling and horse races.  Shirley attended Indian Lake Community Church.

On March 21, 2001, Shirley married Clark Dandera in Bellefontaine, and he survives.  She is also survived by her children: April (Mark) Predmore of Bellefontaine, Toni (Jim) Rumer of Bellefontaine, and Kevin April) Oyer (of Bellefontaine; step-children: John J. Dandera of Harrisburg, Ohio, Clark A. Dandera II of Harrisburg, Ohio, and Zach (Stephanie) Dandera of Kissimmee, Florida; three brothers: Phillip (Joyce) Horne of Bellefontaine, Fred (Bev) Horne of Bellefontaine, and Robin Horne of Russells Point; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; former brother-in-law Randy Oyer; former mother-in-law Barb Harsch; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 12noon at the Indian Lake Community Church, 120 N. Orchard Island Road, Russells Point, with Pastors Jim Ellington, Karen Blackburn, and Dave Hafenbrack officiating.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 7887 Washington Village Dr. Suite #350, Dayton, OH  45459.

Funeral arrangements were in handled by the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine.
