Shirley A. Grimes

Shirley A. Grimes, age 72, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Wednesday morning, October 18, 2017 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born in Urbana, Ohio July 20, 1945, to the late Elra Graham and Genevieve Larry. Shirley was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Thompson; a brother, Kenneth Larry, and a grandson, Gregg Pitts, Jr.

Shirley married James Grimes April 1, 1988 in DeGraff, Ohio and he survives in Bellefontaine. She is also survived by her children, Sharmon Pitts of North Carolina, Kevin Thompson of Marysville, Ohio, and Pam Thompson of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Patricia Allen of Dayton, Ohio and Ronald (Dee) Graham of Bellefontaine and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, where the funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
