Shirley Jenkins

Shirley Ann Houston Jenkins, 79, of Pickerington, Ohio and formerly of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Zusman Hospice, Wexner Heritage Village in Columbus, Ohio.

Shirley was born November 6, 1933 in Columbus, to the late Harry and Fontell (Stempel) Houston.

On September 21, 1964, she married Buddy G. Jenkins and he preceded her in death July 29, 2012. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ronald W., Fred F., Richard P. and Robert Houston, and two step-sons, Kerry and David Jenkins.

Surviving are her children, Jim (Ida) Wright of Gnadenhutten, Ohio, Jerry Wright of San Antonio, Texas, Jack Wright of Pickerington, Ohio, Thomas (Carmella) Hagerman of New Albany, Ohio and Craig Wright of Delaware, Ohio; a step-son, Mike (Judy) Jenkins of Dublin, Ohio; a brother, Gary Houston of Canal Winchester, Ohio; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Linden McKinley High School and a homemaker, Shirley loved to visit with family often. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling to Atlantic City and Las Vegas and in her younger years, enjoyed exercising, dancing and playing music.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire, Ohio with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating.

The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, Ohio.
