Shirley Evelyn Kerr, 84, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Friday morning, April 7, 2017, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Rosewood, Ohio October 22, 1932, to the late Stanley William and Alma Eleanor (Pickering) Ward. Shirley was also preceded in death by a son Terry Kerr.
Shirley married John Kerr, Sr. August 25, 1950, in the Stony Creek Church in DeGraff, Ohio and he survives. Also surviving are children John (Carol) Kerr, Jr. of Villa Hills, Kentucky, Jerry (Lynn) Kerr of Whitehouse, Ohio and Ted (Sherry) Kerr of Bellefontaine; two beloved grandchildren, Crystal and Rowan; and siblings Vincent Ward of Indiana, Wilda (Paul) Baughman of California, Verna Fielder of DeGraff and Marvin (Carole) Ward of DeGraff and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 1950 graduate of DeGraff High School, Shirley enjoyed gardening. After raising her family, she worked in the Shipping Department at AcuSport for eighteen years before she retired. Shirley was a member of the Stony Creek Church of the Brethren.
Visitation will be held at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St. DeGraff, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood-Union Cemetery.
