Shirley Ann Montrose, 75, of Indian Lake Shores, Belle Center, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at her residence. She was born on April 21, 1940 in Hillsboro, OH, the daughter of the late Walter and Bessie (Bond) Moon.
She grew up in Springfield, Ohio and graduated from Springfield High School in 1958. She met her husband, Daniel Montrose in high school, where they grew up around the block from each other. They married in 1960 and moved east to begin their life together and to start a family. She called New Jersey home for 36 years, where she worked for Macy’s, The Children’s Place, and lastly retiring from Sears after 15 years.
In 2001, Shirley and her husband moved back to Ohio, building a home on Indian Lake, where they both shared fond memories of the time spent there during their younger years. Shirley had a great love for the outdoors, her family and her home. She was an avid gardener, animal lover, and enjoyed leisurely cruising on Indian Lake in their boat.
Shirley is reunited with her parents, her Aunt, Annabelle Lewis and her sister-in-law, Sharon (Miller) Moon and nephew Joshua Moon.
She will be forever missed by her husband, Daniel Montrose of Belle Center, daughter, Darlene (David) Montrose-Kestner of Farmington, NH, sisters; Shelby (Keith) Haley of Tiffin, OH, Rose (Dr. Lothar) Krueger of St. Augustine, FL, one brother, Walter Moon, Jr. of Springfield, OH, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, along with all the Red Hat Girls of Indian Lake and all the wonder friends and neighbors of Indian Lake Shores.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth St., Belle Center, OH 433110. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
