Shirley Morris

Biography

Shirley A. Morris, 77, of Bellefontaine, Ohio and formerly of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at her residence.

Shirley was born October 11, 1936, a daughter of the late James M. and Marcella (Robinson) Miller.

Shirley married Robert Lee Morris October 21, 1951, in Marysville, Ohio and he preceded her in death October 27, 2002. She was also preceded in death by two great grandchildren, a brother, Norman O. Miller and a son-in-law, Robert Yelton.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert L. (Betty) Morris, Jr. of Port Jefferson, Ohio, Gary L. (Marsha) Morris of Bellefontaine and Randy J. (Karen) Morris of Marysville, Ohio; three daughters, Vicki J. Yelton and Cheryl A. (David) Wren, both of Springfield, Ohio and Cathy J. (Mark) Bateman of Bellefontaine; two sisters, Lois J. Blair and Patricia E. Roby, both of Bellefontaine; twenty three grandchildren; forty four great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley worked in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn in Bellefontaine for many years. She loved to play BINGO and travel. She enjoyed fishing and listening to classic county and western music including George Jones and Elvis Presley.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty with Ernie Jones and Jesse Hatfield officiating. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
