Shirley Neifer-Linet

Shirley Niefer Linet, 89, of Genoa and formerly of DeGraff, passed away at 12:13 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. She was born in Endicott, New York on May 23, 1928 to the late Claire and Marian (Whitamore) Bulman.

Shirley married Charles Philip Niefer on December 25, 1950 and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1995. She then married Dean William Linet on October 12, 2001 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Ann Niefer; a son, Mark W. Niefer; and a brother.

Shirley is survived by her son John (Vicki) Niefer; five grandchildren, Sarah (Robert) Reinhard, Abbey (Sean Maroney) Niefer, Nathan (April) Niefer, Jenna Niefer, and Sam Niefer; many great grandchildren; and a sister, Barb (Jim) O’Donnell.

A registered nurse, Shirley was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church and Miami Grange.

The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the DeGraff United Methodist Church, 1839 County Road 24 S. in DeGraff, where Pastor Michael Mitchell will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
