Shirley J. Stafford, 75, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
She was born April 18, 1938 in Bellefontaine, to the late Cletus and Thelma (Apple) Smith.
On November 22, 1957, she married Billy E. Stafford in Indiana and he survives along with their sons, William F. Stafford of England and Todd A. Stafford of Bellefontaine; her sisters, Doris (Larry) Heminger of West Liberty, Ohio and Marilyn (Paul) Mikos of Outer Banks, North Carolina, and grandchildren, David, Samantha, and Brad Stafford, Sally Giles and Christina Purtee.
Shirley worked as an accountant for Calendar and Needles for several years and then Tinsley’s I.G.A. where she worked for more than twenty five years.
She was a member of the Hi-Point Church of Christ in Bellefontaine, a volunteer for the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild and served as treasurer for the local chapter of the American Red Cross. She loved to read and enjoyed exercising and walking.
A private interment will be held at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine handled the arrangements for the family.
