Sidney Kerns

Sidney Earl Kerns, 81, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009, at his residence. He was born on November 26, 1927 in Belle Center, the son of the late Don O. and Alcie (Allen) Kerns.

He married Pauline Ricketts on August 26, 1948, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and she survives along with a son, Stephen Kerns of Leslie, Arkansas, and a daughter, Mary Ann (Vernon) Brown of Belle Center. Also surviving are two brothers, Charles and Robert Eugene (Clara) Kerns both of Belle Center; four grandchildren, Amy Kramer, Michael and Stephen Brown and Stephanie Murphy; and ten great grandchildren.

Mr. Kerns retried from Rockwell International in Kenton in 1988. He attended the New Richland Baptist Church, was an avid gardener and enjoyed many years of fishing and hunting. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and was known to his grandchildren as “Pa Sid”.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, with Rev. Ron E. Sanderson officiating. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 13, 2009, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
