Sonia M. Devine, 92, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 5:20 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio June 10, 1920, to the late Alex and Nage Wazevich. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rose and Mary and three brothers, William, Michael and George.
On June 14, 1941, she married Donald Edward Devine and he preceded her in death February 15, 1990.
She is survived by her son Michael Devine of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Michael Devine II and Donald T. (Michelle) Devine, both of Russells Point, Ohio, and Tiffany Devine of Bellefontaine; eight great grandchildren, Michael Devine III, Amber Frantz, Shawna Devine, Damon Devine, Trenton Devine, Bethany Cruce, Carissa Devine and Diana Devine; a great-great granddaughter, Kodi Frantz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sonia had worked as a proofreader at Merchants Industries in Bellefontaine and was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church. An avid bowler, she continued to bowl into her early 90’s and was inducted into the TP Lanes Bellefontaine Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1995. She also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.
Calling hours are Friday, March 8, 2013 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
A mass of Christian burial will be conducted by Father Patrick Sheridan Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine. A mercy meal will be held at the St. Patrick's Church in Makley Hall following the committal.
