Steven Cox

Steven Cox, 71, of Quincy, passed away at 5:53 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio. He was born in Logan County, Ohio on October 14, 1953, a son of the late Carlyle Junior Cox and Euma Lee (Floyd) Cox. 

On June 29, 1974, Steve married Toni Jo (Stahler) Cox in West Liberty, Ohio and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2010. He was also preceded in death by a son, Spencer Cox; and two brothers, Kenneth Cox, and Craig Cox.

Steve is survived by his four children, Nathan Cox, Aaron (Mindy) Cox, Trina (Brian) Ehlschlager, and Quentin (Angie) Cox; seven grandchildren, Myla Cox, Haley Cox, Carson Cox, Brayden Ehlschlager, Scott Ehlschlager, Leigha Cox, and Ian Cox; and several nieces and nephews.

Following his retirement from KTH Industries in St. Paris, Steve willingly served as a “handyman” for his church, local businesses, neighbors, and friends. He was a dedicated father to his children and husband to his wife Toni, who he deeply missed.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff, where Pastor Greg Menssen will officiate a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Per Steve’s request, cremation will follow services.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Steve’s memory, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to the First United Presbyterian Church, 117 S. Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
