Steven Wayne Leiss

Steven Wayne Leiss, 61, of Quincy, Ohio passed away at 4:07 P.M. January 7, 2013, surrounded by family and friends at his home.

He was born September 2, 1951, in Sidney, Ohio to the late Clarence Elmer Leiss and Lova Ella Watkins Leiss who survives in Sidney.

On December 17, 2010, he married Yvonne Annette Ward Fair who survives in Quincy.

Survivors also include three sons, Jared Nathan (Megan) Leiss of Redford, Michigan, Blake Allen Fair and Blaine Andrew Fair, both of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Leiss of Sidney; six beautiful grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Leiss of Sidney, and Mike (Deb) Leiss of Anna, Ohio; two sisters, Darlene (Kenny) Maxwell of Jackson Center, Ohio and Lois (Gibby) Gilbert of Lima, Ohio.

Steve graduated in 1969 from Sidney High School and attended ITT Tech in Columbus, Ohio. He served in the National Guard for six years. He was an electrician for ten years at Copeland in Sidney, and retired in 2006 after twenty five years at General Dynamics in Lima. He was also a farmer.

He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra, Ohio. Steve loved spending time with his family, living on the farm, fishing, and working outdoors.

Calling hours are Friday, January 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center, Ohio. Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church with visitation at 10:00 A.M. at the church prior to the service. Following the service, per Steve’s request, his body will be cremated.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church.

The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center.
