Steven L. Sutherly, 57, of Huntsville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born October 21, 1952 in Kenton, Ohio, to the late Melvin F. and Glesna G. (Iams) Sutherly. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Lenore Kemppainen.
On April 30, 1973 he married Frances K. (Green) Sutherly in Rushsylvania, Ohio, and she survives along with their children, Jason (Tawney) Sutherly of Rushsylvania; Jennifer Lyn (Joseph) McKeithan of Pleasant Plain, Ohio; and Tami (Jason Major) Rowe of Russells Point, Ohio; four brothers, Jack (Ola) Sutherly of Richwood, Ohio; Harold (Barb) Sutherly of Ada, Ohio; David (Sidney) Sutherly of Bellefontaine; and Dwight Sutherly of Nashville, Tennessee; a sister, Karen (Jeff) Conley of Lima Ohio; and four grandchildren, Austin, Danae, Allison, & Makenzie.
Steve worked in material services for Honda of America and retired in October 2008. He worked as a taxidermist and owned and operated Steve’s Taxidermy. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He liked to watch hockey and was a Columbus Blue Jackets fan.
Calling hours will be at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine on Friday, November 27, 2009, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Pastor Ronald Irick and Pastor Shelley Stevenson conduct the funeral service on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Huntsville Cemetery.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to any wildlife charity of the donors’ choice.
