Biography

Susan Jo Pickering, 59, of Russells Point, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born December 2, 1952 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late Lloyd G. and Virginia June (Tait) Pickering.

Surviving are 3 sisters, Winnie Jo Pickering, Beverly Jo Pickering, and Ginnie Jo Pickering Hudson all of Russells Point; a niece, Emily Hudson of Russells Point; and 2 great nieces, Haley & Hannah Stidham.

She taught at Highland County Schools in Florida as an elementary school teacher and retired in 2010. A member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine, she graduated in 1971 from Indian Lake High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Florida. She was a Florida resident for thirty six years and was a member of the First Christian Church in Sebring, Florida. She enjoyed the arts and music and was active in the Lake Wales LIBERTY MUSICAL PRODUCTION annually.

Pastors C.J. Plogger and Vernon Allison will officiate an 11:00 A.M. funeral service Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the First Church of God in Bellefontaine, where friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
