Sylvia A. Wroten, age 67, of Bellefontaine, Ohio and formerly of DeGraff, Ohio passed away at 7:55 P.M. Monday, April 7, 2014 at home.
She was born in Bellefontaine September 9, 1946, to the late Ralph Edward and Georgia (Insley) Stamm. She was also preceded in death by her son James “J.R.” Lamb and her step-mother, Margaret “Peg” Wise.
She is survived by her children, Terri Lamb and David (Stephanie) Lamb, both of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Tara Snyder, Megan (Michael) Albert, Amanda Lamb and Austin Lamb; four great grandchildren, Crosley, Cason, Cruz and Olivia; a brother, Ray (Linda) Stamm of Bellefontaine; step-brothers, Joe (Karen) Wise of Cridersville, Ohio and Ron (Linda) Wise of Belle Center, Ohio, and a step-daughter, Stephanie (John) Butler of Bellefontaine.
Sylvia retired from Siemens following twenty five years of service. She had owned and operated the Morning Glory and Village Pantry Restaurant in DeGraff, worked as a receptionist at All Around Accounting and most recently worked as a security guard for Acrux. She enjoyed the beach, reading, collecting teddy bears, completing crossword puzzles, and watching OSU football and Law-N-Order. Sylvia was instrumental in starting the Lakeview Santa’s Workshop and loved playing Mrs. Claus for the kids. She was affectionately referred to as “Grandma Fifi” by her grandkids.
Pastor Dwight Metzger and Bud Jackson will officiate the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
The funeral arrangements were in care of the staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
