Thelma Irene Huffman Neer, 75, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty, Ohio, on Sunday, March 29, 2009. She was born in West Liberty on March 11, 1934, to the late Marston “Mike” and Nellie Irene Fields Huffman.

Surviving is her loving companion, James “Jimmy” Knoff of Bellefontaine, Ohio; a son, Roger Philip Neer of Bellefontaine; a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” (Scott) Brown of Anderson, South Carolina; 2 brothers, Everett Huffman of West Liberty and Meril Huffman of North Lewisburg, Ohio; a sister, Betty McClain of Lakeview, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Neer Yeager, Wesley Allen Harrington, Kellie Harrington Epps and Mackenzie Irene Neer; 7 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

On May 4, 1965 she married Charles Roger Neer in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death in January 2000. She is also preceded in death by a son, Marston Allen Huffman, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

She worked for Westinghouse, Bulldog, Siemens, HBD and Honda of America. She was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., and the Elks, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Pastor Brandon Storm will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Burial will follow the service at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
