Thomas Meyer

Thomas D. Meyer, 76, of Jackson Center passed away Friday morning, September 16, 2016 at his home. He was born in Elwood, Indiana on August 8, 1940 to the late Norbert and Alvira (Hunstead) Meyer. Tom was also preceded in death by a brother Rolland J. Meyer and two great-grandchildren.

Tom graduated in 1958 from Delphos St. John’s High School, and later attended the Toledo Barber College. He worked many years as a barber and stylist, most recently at H M Hair in Lakeview. In later years, Tom was a salesman for barber supplies. He enjoyed sports and especially watching his kids and grandkids play. Tom was inducted into the Jackson Center Education Foundation Hall of Fame and was a founding member of the Jackson Center Athletic Boosters. He loved his Airstream motorhome. Tom was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine.

Tom married the former Judy Frankart on May 5, 1962 in Bascom, Ohio and she survives in Jackson Center. He is also survived by their children: Gail Wilges of Jackson Center, Debra (Ken) Ihle of Anna, Tony (Nancy) Meyer of Jackson Center and Matthew (Christa) Meyer of Anna; 14 grandchildren: Craig (Kim), Christen, Catie, Blaine, Zach (Emily), Drew, Nick, Alex, Pauline, Cassie, Maria (Drew), Jay (Kassi), Andrew and Emma; nine great-grandchildren; a brother Robert (Marcia) Meyer of Dayton; a sister-in-law Ady Meyer of Lima; a special brother-in-law Gary (Jonna) Frankart of Alabama and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike St. Jackson Center, on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 from 2-8pm and on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 9-9:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10:30am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine. Burial will be at a later date in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Rhine.
