Thomas Porter
Thomas W. Porter, age 83, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 9:00 P.M. Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
He was born in Auxier, Kentucky February 3, 1931, to the late Noah Malcom and Louise Ellen (Dotson) Porter. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Heather Hall; a sister Emma; two brothers, Noah and Johnnie and a son-in-law, David Scheff.
On January 30, 1955, he married Mary (Runyan) Porter and she survives along with five children, Debra (William) Wilson of Bellefontaine, Gina Scheff of West Liberty, Ohio, Tina (John) Wheatley of Cabot, Arkansas, Virginia (Tadd) Chaney and Noah (Pamela) Dillon, both of Springfield, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren, and a sister, Alta Mae (Carl) Wells of Springfield.
A United States Army Veteran, Thomas had retired as a 3rd shift foreman from Tech II, Inc. in Springfield.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 1, 2014, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2 to 4 P.M. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
