Thomas Richard Ricker, 66, of Jackson Center passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 14, 1950 in Lima, Ohio to the late Isadore “Ike” and Marion (Warnecke) Ricker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Ricker.
Tom grew up in Lima and attended Lima Central Catholic School. He was a self-employed entrepreneur for more than 40 years and retired from his business, Ricker Trucking, in 2009. Tom was a member of the Jackson Center United Methodist Church.
Tom married Michele Rostorfer in 1976 in Jackson, Center, Ohio. They were married for 40 years. He was a beloved husband, father and friend, as well as an incredible business man. Tom was passionate about taking care of others and served as a mentor, coach and counselor to many. He enjoyed the outdoors and could be found on Sundays in his garage watching NASCAR. Tom had a witty sense of humor that was spared on no one.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Michele; daughters Lisa (Eric) Hughes of Columbus, and Misty (Jeff) Reese of Jackson Center; son, Ike (Jessica) Ricker of Jackson Center; sister, Marilyn (Dan) Winkler of Jackson Center; brothers, James Ricker of Lima and Kenneth (Jill) Ricker of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Lauren Kathryn Hughes, Landon Thomas Reese, Presley Elaine Reese, Dane James Reese, Kasen Thomas Ricker and Korbyn James Ricker and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will be greeting friends and relatives to celebrate Tom’s life on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 6pm to 9pm at Tom’s Garage, 202 Fairview St. Jackson Center, Ohio.
