Timothy "Tim" Herndon

Timothy “Tim” Herndon, 83, of Jackson Center passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love Nursing in Sidney. He was born in Sidney, Ohio on October 6, 1941, to the late Richard Lorton and Euanna Mae (Davis) Herndon. 

He is survived by his sister, Valerie Mitchell of Lakeview; brother, David Herndon of Jackson Center; brother-in-law, Frank Faulder and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Faulder and sister-in-law, Cindy Herndon. 

Tim was a 1960 graduate of Jackson Center High School and a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Church. He went on to work at S&H Products, Sidney, Ohio where he completed data entry work and also looked forward to participating in the Special Olympics every year. Tim was active in Able Disabled Club in Lima, Ohio. He raised and sold rabbits for many years along with other chores on the farm including mowing the lawn and helping his mother. He liked to collect model horses, listen to classic country, and enjoyed strumming his guitar to Elvis Presley. He especially loved being around his family.

Tim spent his last few years at Dorothy Love nursing home where he made new friendships with his nurses, aides, and other residents.

Pastor Shelly Schultz will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S Main Street, Jackson Center, Ohio 45334. Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church and also one hour before the service Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
