After a long courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis, Treva Lucille Clapsaddle, 88, of East Liberty, Ohio, went to her heavenly home on March 29, 2014.

She was born on July 18, 1925 in Millerstown, Ohio, to the late Forest and Lena Mary (Pence) Comer.

On February 2, 1946, she married George Richard Clapsaddle in East Liberty, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2013. Also preceding her in death are her sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Arthur Clapsaddle, her brother Bill Comer, and a brother-in-law, Jay Ricketts.

Surviving are her children, Paul (Junis) Clapsaddle of Marysville, Ohio, Dale (Lynne) Clapsaddle of Zanesfield, Ohio and Carolyn (Harvey) Grimes of East Liberty; grandchildren, Tammy (Andy) Dosch, Chris (Amy) Clapsaddle, Teresa (Jeff) Robson, Julianna (Neil) Niemi, Josh (Heather) Clapsaddle, Jaymie LeVan, Todd (Hillary) Clapsaddle, Alonna (Bill) Watkins and Valorie (Luke) Jolliff; great grandchildren, Raiph LeVan, Melanie Watkins, Sailor LeVan, Brennan Robson, Grayson Niemi, Sidney Dosch, Morgan Robson, Madison Watkins, Maximus Clapsaddle, Everett Clapsaddle, Kaylor Niemi, Bode Clapsaddle, McKale Watkins, Kaley Dosch, Dalton Clapsaddle, Kiera Clapsaddle, Lane Jolliff, Kalla Niemi, Harmen Niemi, and Marley Watkins; her siblings, Kathleen Ricketts and Paul E. First employed by A..J Miller, Treva also worked for Perry Zane School. She was very proud to be a Rosie the Riveter. Her most treasured role in life was being a lifelong homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Treva was a longtime member of the East Liberty Church of Christ and Calvary Baptist Church and served in various ways over the years. She enjoyed East Liberty card club, square dancing, photography, gardening, traveling coast to coast and to Alaska, and wintering in Florida with beloved friends from Logan County. She had a passion for butterflies. Working alongside George in his many projects and adventures brought her much joy and sense of accomplishments.

Treva and George had a calling for visiting people in their times of need. Prison ministry and caring for foster children were part of that endeavor. Her greatest joy was joining George not only in this life but anticipating eternity together.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Pastors Jason Robson and Jerry McQueen will officiate an 11:00 A.M. service Friday, April 4, 2014 at the East Liberty Church of Christ.
