Victoria Lynn Byrd

Victoria Lynn Byrd, 72 of Jackson Center, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 19, 1952, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Floyd and Jeanette (Steinke) Eustache.

Victoria was one of eight brothers and sisters: Dan (Jan) Eustache, Rick (Gwen) Eustache, Jane (Randy) Moomaw, Mary Lewis, Nancy (Dale) Schwieterman, Mark (Julie) Eustache and Jenny (Frank) Cardo.

She married Larry Byrd on July 6, 1972, and he survives in Jackson Center.

Victoria is survived by three children, Alan (Jennifer) Byrd of Jackson Center, Bryan (Keesha) Byrd of Jackson Center and Emily (Todd) Ratermann of Sidney. Victoria is the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren, Audrey, BrookeAnn, Lydia and Maria Byrd, Griffin, Jordan, Lyla and Jace Byrd, Cole, Jared, Claire and Courtney Ratermann.

Victoria was a graduate of Fairlawn High School in 1970. She worked at Schindler Elevator for 23 years, Volunteered on the Jackson Center rescue squad for 18 years and taught youth Sunday school for many years at Grace Lutheran Church.

Victoria was a loving and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother that always put others first. She was a wonderful seamstress, cook and she loved playing scrabble with her mother and sisters. Her greatest fulfillment was babysitting the grandchildren, watching her children and grandchildren participating in sporting events along with family vacations.

Pastor Bert Schultz will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S Main Street, Jackson Center, Ohio 45334. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church and also one hour before the service Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
