Viola Coughenour

Viola “Beatie” Reed Coughenour, 70, of West Liberty, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 10, 1945 in Jackson, OH to the late Everett “Jack” and Mable (Osborne) Reed. She is also preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Cauley; grandson, Kelly Joe Searles; brothers, Carl Sr. and Ernest Horsley; son-in-law, Jeffery L. Haas; brother-in-law, Nelson Karns; sisters-in-law, Mary Horsley and Judy Horsley; a niece and nephew, Sherry Horsley and Robby Longwell; and a great nephew, Josh Reed.

On January 19, 1992 she married Ed M. Coughenour Sr. and he survives along with her children, Darlene E. Haas, Evelyn K. (Wesley) Searles, James A. (Genny) Cauley and Ernest E. Cauley; grandchildren, Kelsey J. and Jordan Haas and Brandon L. and Wesley C. Searles; great grandchildren, Madalynn J. Sanders and Patelyn G. Spicer; her siblings, Joe Horsley, Larry (Teresa) Reed, Elva (Sis) Karns, Judy (John) Cauley, Margaret (Richard) Truesdale, Kitty “Susie” (Mark) Stanley; and many nieces and nephews.

Viola worked at CTS, Hall’s Gray Stone Restaurant in West Liberty and Trout’s Nursing Home as a cook. She also worked at The Bazaar in Floral Lakes, Florida.

Viola loved to work in the orange groves that her and her husband owned. She also loved going to senior games in Floral Lakes, Florida, her bowling league in Florida, cooking and baking. She enjoyed mostly spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

The family would like to thank Wilson Home Health and Hospice for all of their care. A special thank you to Bev, Ruth, and dear friends, Al and Linda Switzer.

Pastor’s Tim Shere and Al Switzer officiates a 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty, Ohio where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
