Viola Hawkins

Viola Hawkins, age 87, of Quincy, Ohio passed away at 10:32 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

She was born July 29, 1934 in Sidney, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Josephine (McQueen) Strong.

Viola married Acie Hawkins in DeGraff, Ohio January 28, 1955, and he preceded her in death February 15, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Kean; a sister, Mary Catherine Manning and a brother, James A. Strong.

Viola is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Charles) Shively and Lacie Hawkins; a son-in-law, Randy Kean; three grandchildren, Chad (Heather) Kean, Gabe (Keri Jo) Kean, and Myra (Dave) Kennedy; four great grandchildren, Jesse Kean, Aaron Kean, Anika Jo Kean, and Dakota Kennedy; very special friends, Doug and Sherry Butler and a special fur baby Minnie.

A 1952 graduate of Quincy High School, Viola had worked as a cashier in several local grocery stores. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid fan of Kentucky Wildcat basketball and the Cincinnati Reds.

A private graveside service will be held at the Highland Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
