Violetta Jean Brown, age 62, of Zanesfield, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at her winter home in Lake Placid, Florida.
She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio April 24, 1957, to Marlene Jeanette (LeVan) and Robert Eugene Brown.
Violetta is survived by her parents, Marlene and Robert Brown of Bellefontaine; a sister, Brenda (Jon) Williams and a brother, Perry (Debora) Brown, both of Zanesfield.
Violetta was a 1975 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and her Master’s degree from Wright State University. She returned to Benjamin Logan High School and was a vocational business teacher and later a guidance counselor before retiring after thirty five years of service. Violetta was a member of the Logan County Retired Teachers, a trustee for the Sloan Library and was a poll worker for Logan County. She was a member of the Zanesfield United Methodist Church and had been the choir organist and pianist, a former financial secretary for the church and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Violetta enjoyed traveling, needlework and being with her family.
Friends may call at the Zanesfield United Methodist Church Thursday, February 27, 2020, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Pastor Jessica Cavinee will officiate Violetta’s Celebration of Life service Friday, February 28, 2019 at the church at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow the church service at the Zanesfield Cemetery.
