Virgil T. Fryling, Jr. age 86, of Belle Center, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio December 11, 1930, a son of the late Virgil T. Sr. and Helen Irene (Mosier) Fryling. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia, Marilyn, and Sue, and a brother, David.

On October 13, 1955, (62 years ago), he married Margaret (Christensen) Fryling in Silver Spring, Maryland and she survives along with their daughter, Jenine (Jorge) Fryling Marin of Colombia, South America and a son, Devin (Sandra) Fryling of Anaheim, California; six grandchildren, Juliana Marin, Jorge Samuel Marin, Joshua Marin, Lexie Fryling, Emmie Fryling, Christian Fryling; a sister-in-law, Lilly Fryling; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, several cousins, and an aunt, Betty O’Neal of Springfield, Ohio.

Virgil was a 1948 graduate of Bellefontaine High School graduating later on from the Washington Adventist University near Washington D.C., and then receiving his Master’s Degree in Music from Andrews University in Michigan. He was a life-long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he was very active. He taught music to high school and college young people in Colombia, Brazil, New Jersey, and Ohio. During his high school years, he enjoyed flying lessons at the former Bellefontaine Airport, where he and his best friend erected a still-standing monument.

Pastor Don Byard will officiate a memorial service Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 4 P.M. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center assisted the family with the arrangements.
