Virginia Dinovo

Virginia F. “Ginny” Dinovo, age 80, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine Friday, July 18, 2014.

She was born August 4, 1933 in Fletcher, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Mary (Wiegman) Petty. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Beulah Downing and her brothers, John, Ralph, Harold, Herb, Bill and Dick Petty.

On February 7, 1959 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, she married Leonard Dinovo and he survives along with their children, Anna Marie (Robert) Schumacher of Cincinnati, Ohio and Chris Dinovo of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Kevin and Kristin Schumacher, Daniel and Natalie Dinovo and Matt Baughman; a brother, Don “Butch” (Ellen) Petty of Erlanger, Kentucky; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Short of Bellefontaine and Dorothy Petty of Delaware, Ohio.

Ginny retired from Bellefontaine City Schools where she served as a teacher’s aide and secretary.

She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine and enjoyed playing cards with her friends, cooking, making candy and crocheting. Her biggest joy and love were her grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. An 11:00 A.M. funeral mass will be held at the St. Patrick Catholic Church Wednesday, July 23, 2014 with Father Patrick Sheridan officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
