Virginia M. Griffith, 92, formerly of Lakeview, Ohio, passed away at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio Monday, January 14, 2013.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania April 4, 1920, to the late William and Della (Bergener) Klee.
On September 17, 1941 she married Robert A. Griffith, Sr. in Wellsburg, West Virginia, and he preceded her in death December 19, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Klee, Jr. of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, and a sister, Marjorie Carpenter of Harmons, Maryland.
Virginia is survived by two sons, Robert A. (Louise) Griffith, Jr. of Bakersfield, California and Scott Griffith of Tampa, Florida; a daughter, Lynn (Ron) Blubaugh of Russells Point, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jeff (Lori) Griffith of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Sue (Jeff) Bridges of Dundalk, Maryland, Cathy Griffith of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Aaron (Stephanie) Griffith of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Ronald Blubaugh Jr. of Spencerville, Ohio, and Jason (Michelle) Blubaugh of Aurora, Colorado; ten great-grandchildren, and a special nephew, Bruce (Joan) Carpenter of Dayton, Maryland.
Virginia was a 1938 graduate of Penn High School in Verona, Pennsylvania, and worked for twenty six years at Hochschild Kohn Department Store in Baltimore and Glen Burnie, Maryland. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and their United Methodist Women’s group. Virginia loved her family, her church and her favorite activity, BINGO.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Logan Acres Care Center, where Virginia received excellent care with compassion, love and respect.
A memorial service will be held at the Christ United Methodist Church in Lakeview Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11 A.M., with Pastor Rob Kilgore officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Christ United Methodist Church, Logan Acres Care Center or Wilson Memorial Hospice.
The staff of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview assisted the family with the arrangements.
