Virginia R. Kramer-Shafer, 90, of Rushsylvania, passed away at 2:34 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in York Center, Ohio on August 6, 1925 to the late Rev. E.J.A. and Anna (Patingail) St. Louis.
On August 13, 1950 she married her first husband, Richard W. Kramer D.C. in Toledo, Ohio, and he preceded her in death. Then On May 31, 1997 she married her second husband, William S. Shafer in Belle Center, Ohio and he also preceded her in death, along with her sister, Doris Klutch and a brother, Robert St. Louis.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Denise) Kramer of Greenwood, Indiana, Mark (Sharon) Kramer of Rushsylvania, and Karen (Bob) Baldwin of Belle Center; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Carroll Schunn of Bloomington, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Bellefontaine. She was an Ohio Northern University Graduate and teacher for over 30 years, retiring from Bellefontaine City Schools. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and was also the first director of the Friendly Senior Center.
Reverend Rob Fulton will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Monday, November 30, 2015 from 3 - 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushsylvania Cemetery in Rushsylvania.
