Virginia McPherson

Virginia K. McPherson, 76, of Lebanon, Ohio passed away Thursday morning, January 12, 2017 at Spring Hills Nursing Home, Franklin, Ohio.

Virginia was born in Lima, Ohio to the late Jasper Claude and Virginia Martin Lewis on December 9, 1940. She married John L. McPherson on July 7, 1962 in Beaverdam and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2006. She was also preceded in death by Dave Lewis (brother), Robert Lewis (brother), Sue Lewis (sister).

Virginia owned and operated a children’s clothing store for several years. She was an insurance office manager for a short time and also worked as a secretary. Throughout her life, her proudest job was raising her children and helping raise her grandchildren. Virginia enjoyed gardening, reading and watching “Murder, She Wrote.” She also enjoyed playing canasta with friends and family, shopping for antiques, traveling and being a great mother and grandmother. Virginia attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lebanon and treasured the Sunday lunches with the “Lunch Bunch.”

Virginia is survived by a son Scott L. McPherson of Toledo; a daughter Amy Adair Paass of Toledo; grandchildren: Nicholas Snyder, Brandon (Katelyn Tropp) Bowman, Brittney Clark and Donald Clark; two sisters, Pat Bowsher of Lima and Sandy Horne of Florence, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Virginia and John were much more than just grandparents, they were more like parents and helped raise Brandon – they are the reason his is the man he is today.

Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, Ohio on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 11am-12:30pm with a funeral mass at 1pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 328 E. Patterson Ave. Bellefontaine, Ohio. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
