Vivian Koontz

Vivian “Viv” R. Koontz, 82, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at her residence. She was born on August 1, 1927, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Charles W. and Beatrice (Morrison) Koontz.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie H. (Sam) Slusser of Defiance, Ohio; a niece, Brenda Potthast of Seattle, Washington; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and several cousins. A sister, Helen Koontz White, preceded her in death.

"Viv" retired from Logan Acres Care Center, working in the Food Services Dietary. She was a former member of the Ninth Avenue Methodist Church in Huntington, West Virginia, and a member of the Bellefontaine Senior Citizen Group where she loved to play cards. She enjoyed going to the Y.M.C.A. and was a volunteer for several originations.

Calling hours are from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. A graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the Springhill Cemetery in Huntington, West Virginia.
