Walter Virgil Egler III, 59, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Milcrest Healthcare Monarch Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Marysville, Ohio.
He was born in Springfield, Ohio February 6, 1962, a son of the late Walter Virgil Egler II and Pearline (Johnson) Egler. He was also preceded in death by a sister Donna Lynn Ratliff in 2011.
He is survived by a son, Andrew Egler of Bellefontaine; a daughter, Katie Leib of Bellefontaine; two grandchildren; his siblings Anna (Dwight) Kenerly of Springfield, Ohio, Jeanette Sanders of Marysville, Cheryl (Derrick) Kinchen of Bellefontaine, Akima Long of Bellefontaine and Sean Henry (Bethany) Egler of Findlay, Ohio; a host of nieces and nephews and the mother of his children, Heather Leib Ilse.
Virgil worked construction, enjoyed fishing, was a fan of the University of Michigan athletics and appreciated the time he was able to spend with his family. He was a United States Army Veteran.
A Chaplain with the United States Army will officiate a private graveside service in the Dayton National Cemetery with military honors.
The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine is honored to serve the Egler family.
