Walter L. Martin

Walter L. Martin, age 82, of Russells Point, Ohio passed away at 9:12 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Dayton, Ohio September 28, 1935, to the late Walter H. and Oral Martin.

On July 8, 1952, he married Martha E. “Marty” (Sturgill) Martin and she preceded him in death January 27, 2017. Also preceding Walter in death was a grandson, Christopher Martin.

He is survived by two sons, Robert (Cindy) Martin of Huntsville, Ohio and Lee (Erin) Martin of Hopewell, Ohio; grandchildren, Emma and Charley Sposa, Amy Downing, Rob (AuBree) Martin, Carrie (Kevin) Apling, Jennifer (Denny) Urmston, and Bill Vest; thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Walter was a graphic arts international union representative for thirty years and loved his job.  He enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida boating, fishing, and being on Indian Lake. He also enjoyed being around his family and his grandchildren. Walter loved his wife Marty of sixty five years so much and they are both happily together again.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Jennifer Smith for all her care to Walter this past year.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

After visitation, Deacon Robert Crook will officiate the funeral service at 1:00 P.M.

Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville.

The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
