Waneta L. Nesser, 87, of Bellefontaine passed away at 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 14, 1928 to the late Herbert and Anna (Chambers) Bowers. She married her husband of 68 years, David Nesser, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2014. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Leta Nesser, Janet Lane and Lois Smith.
Waneta is survived by her three children, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, loving wife, and mother, Waneta was a graduate of Worthington High School. She was a member of the Logansville Community Church and Friendly Senior Center in Bellefontaine. She volunteered much of her time at Green Hills and with the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild. An avid Cincinnati Reds fan, Waneta loved to garden and meet with her Tuesday morning coffee group. Her most favorite activity was playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Honoring Waneta’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Pastor Dana Kidder will officiate a memorial service for family and close friends at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Logansville Community Church, 9343 St. Rt. 47 W., DeGraff, Ohio.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
