Willard “Til” Vane Winter, 85, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 1:15 P.M. Thursday, July 23, 2009, in his residence. He was born June 24, 1924, in Raymond, Ohio, to the late Willard E. and Marion Gunder Winter. On June 28, 1951, he married Mary Alice Mullaney in Raymond and she survives in Bellefontaine. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent.
Surviving are sons, Anthony V. Winter of Lima, Ohio, and Christopher (Sandy) Winter of Bellefontaine; two daughters, Shelley (Rick) Nease of Bellefontaine and Patricia (Daryl) Boyd of Galena; grandchildren, R. Matthew Nease, Kristen Yoder, Aaron Nease, Andrew Boyd, Natalia Chase, Colin Boyd, Anthony W. Winter, Shannon Winter, Brad Winter and Brandon Winter; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Beverly) Winter of Marysville, Ohio; a sister, Mary Madylene Hurd of Merriam, Kansas.
A brick mason for Knowlton Construction and Thomas & Marker, he was a member of the Zanesfield United Methodist Church and was a 1942 graduate of Raymond High School. He served with the 119th Army Medical Battalion in the European Theater during World War II.
The funeral service will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in the Zanesfield United Methodist Church where calling is one hour prior to the service.
A private burial will be held in the Zanesfield Ohio Cemetery with military honors by the Logan County Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church, Universal Home Health and Hospice and charities of the donor's choice.
