William R. Knear

William R. “Bill” Knear, 78, of DeGraff, passed away at 1:13 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his home. He was born in Kingscreek, Ohio to the late Carl Raymond and Odlene (O’Brien) Knear.

On April 4, 1959 Bill married the former Patricia Heminger in Rosewood, Ohio and she survives. Their 59 year marriage was blessed with the births of their four daughters, Wanda (John) Ellison, Brenda (Rich) Lopez, Sandy (Brian) Samples, and Wilma (Dave) Marquis; seven grandchildren, Barbie, Sid, John, William, Joshua, Chelsea, and Brett; 12 great grandchildren and another due in June; a sister, Marilyn; and his faithful dogs, “Abby” and “Joy”. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Carol.

Bill was a farmer and retired from United Telephone Company after 42 years of service. A handyman to an extreme, he could fix anything. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, NASCAR, and watching train programs.

Family and friends are invited to the Knear farm at 1 p.m. on May 19, 2018 for a Celebration of Life Service and potluck dinner.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
