William E. Parker, 80, of Bellefontaine passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Urbana, Ohio on December 15, 1935, the son of the late Albert Gurney and Florence (Yohn) Parker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Ann Parker and a son, Jeffrey Wayne Parker in 2007 and several siblings.
On December 25, 1957, he married the former Betty Adkins in Urbana and she survives along with their daughter, Teresa Parker and son, Jerry (Diana) Parker, all of Bellefontaine, four grandchildren; Douglass Mattox, Christina Mattox, Chastity Morris and Erica Morris, three step grandchildren, Tom Warner, Tim Warner, and Casey Dixon, nine great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, three sisters, Sue Bump of Cable, Jenny Parker of Indiana, and Katherine Caldwell of Springfield, three brothers, James, David and Melvin Parker, all of Urbana, and several nieces and nephews.
William worked for the Urbana Street Department for more than 30 years. He belonged to the R.E.A.C.T. group and had served as an assistant Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed word puzzles and searches.
Pastor Ron Irick will officiate a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
