William Scherer

William “Bill” Scherer, age 62, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at 5:45 P.M. Friday, September 13, 2019 at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee.

He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio July 3, 1957, to the late Eugene R. and Donna Mae (Wood) Scherer. His brothers, Donald P. Scherer and Harold E. Scherer also preceded Bill in death.

He is survived by his children, Kristen (Jason) DeMatteo and Justen (Ashlee) Scherer; grandchildren, Hunter Scherer and Vincent DeMatteo; the love of his life, Pam Clark; a sister, Barbara Scherer; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

Bill loved to go fishing and travel around the country with Pam in their motorhome.  He enjoyed building and racing his hot rods throughout the years.  Bill liked being with his “Saturday Breakfast Buddies” and Chuck, his furry buddy.  He loved telling stories about his kids and grandkids and especially spending time with all of them.  All who knew and loved Bill will miss him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 3 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 20, 2019 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the funeral service at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
