William Howard Woodruff, 89, of Zanesfield, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at his residence. He was born on April 16, 1920 in Champaign County Ohio, to the late Owen and Edna (Wade) Woodruff.
On June 9, 1942, he married Betty Jane Keller in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2001. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Joe Woodruff and two sisters, Maxine Jurista and Margaret Woodruff.
Surviving are two sons, William “Bill” (Roxanne) Woodruff of Bellefontaine and Thomas J. Woodruff of Zanesfield; a sister, Miriam Phares of Springfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Chad (Wendy) Woodruff of West Liberty and Cristen Woodruff of Bellefontaine; seven great grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Mason and Mackenzie Woodruff all of West Liberty, Ohio; Jayden and Jordon Stiles and Jersey Pickering all of Bellefontaine.
A lifelong farmer, he attended the Pickrelltown Methodist Church.
Pastor Glen Gault will conduct the graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the Zanesfield Cemetery.
