Winifred Patterson

Winifred M. “Winnie” Patterson, 92, of Bellefontaine passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.

She was born in Logan County on March 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Geising) Vellenga.

On September 21, 1946 in Bellefontaine she married Ralph Edward Patterson and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1988. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and John Vellenga and a sister, Ann Wood.

She is survived by two sons, Chuck (Pam) Patterson of Columbus and Bill (Mary Ann) Patterson of Bellefontaine, four grandsons; Jared Patterson of Bellefontaine, Mike (Kylene) Patterson of Worthington, Bart (Ashley) Patterson of Oxford, FL and Jon Patterson of Albuquerque, NM, four great-grandsons; Will, Milo, Brady and Finn Patterson, one sister, Dorothy Kelsey of Bellefontaine and several nieces and nephews.

Winnie was a long time member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Bellefontaine. She was a 1942 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and worked for Merchant Industries until her retirement. She also worked as an Avon Representative for many years.

Pastor Rob Fulton will officiate a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the gazebo of the Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
