Trey F. Daring

Director

A native of Bellefontaine, Trey is a 1997 graduate of Bellefontaine Senior High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. In 2002 he graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and became an Ohio licensed funeral director and embalmer in 2003. Trey also holds his Ohio insurance license. He joined the Eichholtz Funeral Home Family in 2006, after working in Loudonville for Walt Lindsey, Past President of OFDA, for four years. Trey became a managing partner in 2012.


Trey is active with the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, having served on the Young Funeral Director's Committee. He has served on the Logan County Residential Homes board, Hilliker Y.M.C.A. board, and currently serves on the Bellefontaine Athletic Boosters board. He is a past president of The Order of Symposiarch’s of America, Bellefontaine Chapter.


He and his wife, Kyle, who is the Bellefontaine Middle School head principal, are parishioners of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, where Trey served on the Diakonia Team. Trey enjoys following his children's sports and activities, as well as The Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati athletic programs.


Trey and Kyle have two sons, Sutton, who was born in January of 2009 and Rowen who was born in May of 2012 and one daughter, Bexley who was born in December of 2013.

Dennis J. Sanford

A native of DeGraff, Dennis graduated valedictorian from Riverside High School in 1992. He earned his Associates of Applied Science Degree in Registered Nursing from Edison State Community College in Piqua in 1998. In 2000, Dennis graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, receiving both the Dr. A.J. Nunnamaker Memorial Award for graduating valedictorian as well as the Charles O. Dhonau Memorial Embalming Award for demonstrating excellence in embalming. Dennis became co-owner of Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Homes on June 29, 2012. A Past Master of Boggs Lodge #292 F&AM in DeGraff, Dennis volunteers much of his time coaching youth athletics. On November 28, 1998, Dennis married his wife Tara (Hostetler), who works as a registered nurse at the Mary Rutan Hospital Family Birth Center. They reside in West Liberty with their two children, Madelyn and Hayden.

Eric J. Tinsman

Originally from Fostoria, Ohio, Eric is a graduate of Fostoria High School and has a bachelors degree from The Ohio State University. After obtaining his Funeral Director license in 1997, he worked several years in Mansfield and then relocated to Logan County. He has been associated with Eichholtz Funeral Homes since 2009.

In his spare time, Eric enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife Jane and their son Adam, who is a student at Benjamin Logan School. Eric assisted the Indian Lake football program with their video support for 12 years, and is currently doing video for the Benjamin Logan football team.

Eric and Jane are members of the Cornerstone Church at Huntsville.

Hannah J. Rostorfer

Originally from Lima, Hannah is a 2017 graduate from Shawnee High School. She attended Rhodes State College before transferring to the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, where she graduated in December of 2020 with her bachelor’s degree in mortuary science.

Hannah is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and certified crematory operator. She served her apprenticeship with Eichholtz Daring and Sanford Funeral Homes in 2020-2021.

Hannah and her husband Braden have a son, Tracen, born in July of 2022 and three fur babies: Nala, Melody and Emmie. She enjoys to travel, golf, shop, attend concerts and sporting events, especially the Michigan Wolverines and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kyle Van Horn

Kyle grew up in Bellefontaine and graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 2004. He attended Edison State College in Piqua, Ohio on a basketball scholarship and earned his Associate of Arts degree. In 2014, Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Mortuary Science degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. At graduation, he was awarded the Arthur J. Russler Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Practice of Embalming. Kyle is a fourth-generation funeral director/embalmer. His grandfather, Myron L. Van Horn, was a past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors and the National Funeral Directors Associations. Kyle spent 3 years, from 2020-2023, in the Akron area but was drawn back to his hometown. Kyle is excited to be back to serve the wonderful families of Logan & Shelby County during their most challenging times and following in the footsteps of the three generations before him. Kyle loves being outside, golfing, coaching youth sports, and spending time with his family. Kyle’s wife, Amy (Bell), is a 5th-grade teacher at Indian Lake Middle School and his son, Keegan, who was born in 2011 attends Bellefontaine Middle School.

Karla A. Haas

Office Manager

Karla serves as office manager of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. She was born and raised in Jackson Center where she graduated from Jackson Center High School. She has been working in the funeral industry for 30 years including many years at Van Horn Funeral Home of Lakeview and Jackson Center before coming to the Bellefontaine location in 2010.

Her family includes her husband Keith whom she married in January 1976, and two daughters, Danielle (Jeff) Davis of Fort Loramie and Tara (Adam) Rohr of Galena. They are proud grandparents of Elliott and Tatum Davis and Olivia and Tyler Rohr. She is a member of the Jackson Center United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoys watching her grandkids, going to their sporting events and watching all of their activities.

She is an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds where she attends many games and enjoys watching them on TV. She also enjoys all sports including The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Susan E. O’Rielley

A native of Logan County, Susan grew up in Belle Center and graduated in 1976 from Benjamin Logan High School. In September of 1977 she married Tim O’Rielley, a Bellefontaine native and a 1974 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. Tim is an insurance agent at CoverLink Insurance. They moved to Bellefontaine where they raised two daughters. Their oldest daughter, Jill, married Matt Meighan; both 2001 graduates of Bellefontaine High School. They currently reside in Anthem, AZ, where she is a stay home mom to their two sons, Caleb and Carson. Their youngest daughter, Becky, a 2004 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, lives in Bellefontaine and is a Guidance Counselor at Bellefontaine High School.Susan and her husband are members of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, where she is a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She is also a member of the Belle Center American Legion Auxiliary. Susan has been with Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Homes since September 1994 and serves as office manager of Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.

Rush "Bud" Eichholtz

Director

A native of Bellefontaine, Bud graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1962, attended the Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and was a 1975 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Upon his graduation from C.C.M.S. he joined the family funeral business in Bellefontaine, where he became a third-generation funeral director/embalmer. Married to the former Mona Brown, also a Logan County native, they are the parents of two children, Rush III, and Krista Adelsberger, and have four grandchildren. Bud is active in many community clubs and events and is a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine and the Ohio Funeral Directors Association.

Choy Sanford

Pets Office Manager

Choy grew up in Huntsville, Ohio and graduated from Indian Lake High School in 1987. On July 1, 1989, she married Dean Sanford and they are the proud parents of Sydney and Olivia Sanford.

Choy has worked in the veterinary field for twenty years and is a member of the Huntsville Presbyterian Church.

Choy has three dogs, Sebastian, Stella and Parker and one cat, Lola.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her pets, flower gardening, bird watching, antiques and flea markets and watching the Cincinnati Reds.

A native of Bellefontaine, Rush graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1982. He is the son of Rush “Bud” and Mona (Brown) Eichholtz, and has a daughter Courtney. Rush has been a funeral director assistant with Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Homes since 2001. He enjoys spending time with his wife, the former Diana Buckingham, and playing golf.

A native of Bellefontaine, Nathan moved to Quincy during high school and graduated from Riverside High School in 1992. He graduated from DeVry University with an Associates of Applied Science in Electronics. Nathan worked for Eastman Kodak for 17 years before acquiring Firehouse Pizza and Subs in Zanesfield and Buckeye Pizza in DeGraff and becoming a full-time business owner. Nathan also holds his Ohio insurance license. Nathan has been a long-time supporter of youth sports in Logan County both as a coach, volunteer and business sponsor. Nathan has been associated with Eichholtz Funeral Homes since 2020.

In 1995 Nathan married his wife Kristin, who is a Realtor with Royer Realty LLC. They live outside of West Liberty and have three sons, Samuel, Tyler and Andrew. Samuel is married to his wife Kelsie and is an Engineering Operations Technician for Amazon Web Services. Tyler and Andrew will be graduating from Riverside High School in 2023.

In his free time Nathan enjoys remodeling homes with his wife, hiking, attending his children’s sporting events and spending time on the family’s lot on the Miami River.

A native of Logan County, Randy grew up in the DeGraff area and graduated from Riverside High School in 1996. In 2003, he married Staci and they are the parents of Rylee and Hayden. Randy is a full-time firefighter and paramedic. He enjoys spending time with his family and working on home projects. Randy has been associated with Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Homes since 2017, and the Buckeye Monuments Representative since April 2020.

Dane F. Daring

Born and raised in Bellefontaine, Dane is a 1972 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and a 1976 graduate of Ohio Northern University with a degree in Business/Accounting. Married to Mindy, they have two children, Trey and Bryn, and five grandchildren. Dane retired from Honda and now enjoys spending quality time with his family at the “Daring Farm”, as well as watching all The Ohio State University athletic activities.

Mike Kerns

Mike graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 2002. He has been an automotive technician since 2004, working at local car lots prior to opening his own business in 2008. Mike lives in Bellefontaine and has two children, Kayden and Madalyn. He enjoys spending his leisure time with his children, as well as hiking, fishing and working with his hands. Mike has been with Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Homes since October 2013.

Roy Pulfer

Director Assistant

A native of Logan County, Roy grew up on the family farm outside of Quincy. He graduated from Riverside High School and continued his education in law enforcement, and began his career at Logan County Sheriff's Office in 1979. He retired after 35 years of service, as Coroporal in the jail. Roy then worked as a Resource Officer in Riverside School and as security at Logan County Municipal Court. He is married to Julie (Wren) Pulfer and they have one daughter, Emily. He is a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoys taking warm weather vacations when time permits.

Rick Nelson

Rick has been associated with Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Homes since 1969. He and his wife, Becky, live in West Liberty and have three grown children; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Rick is retired from his family insurance business and the Champaign County Communications Center. He is a member of Mad River Lodge #161 F&AM. He was a member of the West Liberty Fire Department for 36 years and is an avid ham radio operator and model railroader.

Dean Sanford

Dean grew up in DeGraff and graduated from Riverside High School in 1987. Dean has worked at Honda of America since January of 1988. He married Choy in July of 1989 and they have two daughters, Sydney and Olivia Sanford, one cat and three dogs. He enjoys watching sports and watching county fair horse races.

Brandon T. Jackson

A Native of DeGraff, Brandon graduated from from Graham High School in 2014. Brandon furthered his education by graduating Sigma Alpha Pi with an Associate of Science Degree from Edison State Community College in 2016. Brandon graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2018. At graduation he was awarded the Charles O. Dhonau Award which recognizes the student demonstrating the highest competence in Embalming Theory and Clinical Application in his graduating class.

Brandon originally joined the Eichholtz Funeral Homes in 2008. He is a licensed funeral director & embalmer at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Homes. Brandon served his funeral directing and embalming apprenticeship at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home locations in 2018-2019.

In 2019 Brandon married his wife, Brooke (Thompson). Brandon and Brooke have two daughters, Bexley, who was born in June of 2020 and Kierstyn who was born in May of 2022.

Ryan Brown

Ryan is a Bellefontaine native, graduating from Bellefontaine High School in 1996 and the University of Toledo in 2001. He helps with funerals, visitations and transportations here at Eichholz Daring and Sanford Funeral Homes. He works full time as a Sergeant for Logan County Sheriff Department since 2002.

Katrina Eversole

Director Assistant

Katrina has been with Eichholtz as a Director’s Assistant since 2011. She is a native of Richland County Ohio. She moved to Logan County in 2002.

Proud mom of two, Hayley (Kris VanBuskirk) of Big Springs and Scott (Cori Levingston) of Marion. She has been blessed with three grandchildren - Hendrix, Kayde and Korwin.

She has had many varied interest and occupations including serving as the volunteer Treasurer of A Special Wish Foundation’s Richland/Ashland and Crawford county chapter for many years, worked as a manager in hospitality management, sold real estate, served the village of Rushsylvania as mayor for 9 years, built and owned the Marathon Gas Station in Rushsylvania until 2008, and has served the Rushsylvania Church of Christ as their office administrator since 2009.

Shelby Sherwood

Raised in Hardin County, Shelby graduated from Upper Scioto Valley High School in 2010 and James A. Rhodes State College in 2015 with her associates degree in nursing. She moved to Logan County when she met her husband, TJ, whom she married in 2018. She has been employed at The Logan County Sheriff’s Office as a registered nurse since 2018. In her down time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and their children; Oaklyn, Wrenley, Lawson, and Oliver.
